2013 Multi Bet #6

Our Multi Bet #5 won us $2,875 but we lost our bet last week (not published) thanks to¬†Brett Suttor’s disgraceful refereeing in the Manly V New Zealand game. Thank god he’s been sacked from NRL duties this week because you’d stay away from any game he’s involved in!

The good news for this week is that there are a bunch of absolute certainties in the AFL and NRL! We’ll be looking put down $1,000 of our winnings and take home more than $10,000.

We were trying to stick with a 4-5 leg Multi this week but there are just too many games that appear to be easy picks! It’s like the stars have aligned for punters; rounds like this only happen a couple of times a year (if you’re lucky!) and when they do, you need to BET BIG to take full advantage! Here’s our 8-leg Multi that we’ve come up with for the week:

  1. Hawthorn to beat Carlton by 11+ $1.45
Carlton started well last week but were run down by the fast finishing Bombers. The Hawks are another level above and we think the margin will be closer to 40. Carlton will struggle to contain Buddy and cover the 11 points with ease.
  2. Brisbane with a 60.5 start against Fremantle $1.48
Brisbane welcome back three of their best players in Rockliff, Leuenberger and Rich. When Fremantle win, they rarely win big. Brisbane will be competitive and they definitely won’t lose by more than 10 goals! $1.48 is great value here!
  3. Essendon to beat Gold Coast by 20+ $1.49
Gold Coast have been fantastic recently but a tough month of football and physical game in wet conditions last week will eventually take a toll on the young team. Essendon have been sluggish lately and will not want to let the Suns get an early lead. The Suns will also have a tough time containing Essendon’s forward line. Expect the Bombers to win by 60+ under the roof at Etihad.
  4. Collingwood to beat the Western Bulldogs by 23+ $1.40
Another steal at $1.40. This game could get ugly for Bulldogs fans. Swan and Pendlebury to pick up a lazy 35+ possessions and Cloke to kick a big bag. Again, this game will be under the roof at Etihad so weather conditions won’t be a factor.
  5. South Sydney to beat Gold Coast $1.33
The Titans have been playing pretty well and both teams are coming off a bye. We expect a competitive game but the Rabbitohs will get the job done.
  6. Melbourne to beat Newcastle $1.19
The Storm were back to their best last week against the Sharks and will easily account for the Knights
  7. Roosters to beat the Warriors $1.29
The Warriors have been better in the last two weeks but the Roosters will be far too good for them. If you’re interested in margins – we like Roosters 13+ at $2.05.
  8. Brisbane to beat Wests Tigers $1.25
The Broncos are back at home on Monday night and will be comfortable winners against the Tigers. If you’re tipping margins, we like Brisbane 13+ at $2.05.

Total odds: $11.42
We honestly can’t see this bet losing and we are putting down $1,000 from our winnings on this for a payout of $11,420.

Let us know your thoughts and any other bets you like for the week!

Best of luck!
