2014 Multi Bet #3

Who would’ve thought the Demons would beat the Tigers last week? The Tigers were looking to send of not only a club legend, but an AFL legend in Tommy Hafey but the Demons simply wanted it more. The Demons played some of the fiercest football this year and their intensity was first class. If they can produce consistent efforts like that they will become a feared side in the years to come. For the Tigers, their season is all but over.

It’s been a tough season for picking a multi so head to head picks have been the way to go in recent weeks. This is the last round of byes in the AFL and the first round of byes in the NRL in the lead-up to Origin. Origin weeks are often tough to pick winners with so many stars missing but we still think there are a few games worth looking at.

All odds this week are with Betezy. Betezy are looking to make a massive play in the Australian sports betting industry with the recent takeover by Australia’s leading bookmaker, Matthew Tripp. If you want to know more about Betezy you can check out our review here.

Value Pick

Before we look at our multi, we’ll take a look at one of the best value picks this week. Hawthorn 1-39 at $3.40. They are playing a red hot Port Adelaide team and they are missing key players including Mitchell, Rioli, Gibson, Lake, and Roughead, but you can never write-off a team like the Hawks. Even h2h they are paying $2.85.

This Week’s Multi

Here’s our 6 leg multi for the week:

  1. Geelong to beat the Roos $1.52
Even without Stevie J, the Cats at home on a Friday night will be tough for the Roos. We think this will be a great game but expect Geelong to come away with the win.
  2. Richmond to beat GWS $1.40
These are juicy odds against GWS in what is an absolute must-win game for Richmond! I’m expecting Richmond to play some good, physical football this week and have a good win over the Giants.
  3. Collingwood to beat West Coast $1.33
The Pies are back at home at the MCG after a shock loss last week in Adelaide (how about that Adelaide Oval crowd!?) but their midfield will be far too strong for Eagles. There’s been a bit of talk about the form Cloke this week but Bucks says he’s due to kick a bag and tear a game apart. Collingwood should also cover the -20.5 line here.
  4. Gary Ablett Gold Coast to beat the Bulldogs $1.23
Gary Ablett could not play a game for the rest of the year and still be in with a good chance to win the Brownlow. The Suns at home is becoming a tough trip for interstate clubs and we expect the Suns to cover the -27.5 line comfortably.
  5. Adelaide to beat Carlton $1.65
Adelaide were inspired by their home crowd last week and big Tex was pretty good in his first game back (even though he didn’t kick a goal) and Charlie Cameron could soon be the most exciting player in the comp! This should be a pretty good game but we expect Adelaide to come away with the win and cover the small -7.5 line.
  6. Raiders to beat the Cowboys $1.45
Without Thurston, Scott, Tamou and Tate, the Cowboys will be lacking firepower. The Raiders at home should take full advantage of this and have a comfortable win.

Total odds are $8.33. We think this is worth $200 for a $1,655 payout!
