2015 NBA Multi Oct 29

The NBA season is about to begin and each week we will be taking a look at the NBA matches on Thursday Australian time and offering a multi.

To start this week’s multi off we will be backing the Washington Wizards on the road against the Orlando Magic. The Wizards have been improving every season and with John Wall and Bradley Beal having another postseason and offseason under their belts they are ready to carry this team to new heights. The team has added depth to their side and the Nene and Martin Gortat combination will be improved. The Magic is still rebuilding and will struggle throughout this season.

The Utah Jazz are coming off a poor season but after the all star break they were vastly improved and managed to win more games then they lost. They start off their season against the Detroit Pistons who are in a similar rebuilding position to the Jazz. The Pistons will be having their second match in as many days however it shouldn’t effect them too much in the early stages of the NBA season. Brandon Jennings and Reggie Jackson are primed for a solid season with the acquisitions of Danny Granger and Marcus Morris to improve the side whilst the Jazz suffered a blow with Australian Dante Exum suffering an ACL injury whilst playing for Australia.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a season where they narrowly lost in the finals despite missing two all stars and other key pieces of their rotation through injury. Lebron James will be even more determined to prove the doubters wrong after a lot of critics are bagging him for losing in the Finals on four separate occasions. They will come out and earn a big victory against the Grizzlies whose style of play could play into the hands of the spread the floor offence of the Cavaliers.

The New Orleans Pelicans were able to improve their roster in the offseason by maintaining a lot of their players whilst bringing in a few key pieces. Meanwhile the Portland Trail Blazers lost four of their five starters and another key player off the bench whilst barely doing a thing to replace them. They will have their worst season in recent years whilst the Pelicans will reach new heights depending on the progress of superstar Anthony Davis.

The Los Angeles Clippers had one of the best off-season’s recruiting, as they were able to add superb depth to their side whilst also retaining star center DeAndre Jordan. The Kings are another side that is rebuilding and are lacking depth, when their bench comes onto the court the Clippers will dominate in this area as they had the best offence of all the teams last season and it will only improve this year.
