2016 AFL Round 1 Betting Multi

AFL 2016

The 2016 AFL season begins this Thursday, March 25 and All Free Bets will once again be offering up our thoughts on a weekly AFL betting multi, starting with our Round 1 tips!

We will be starting by having Richmond to beat Carlton. While the tigers have some massive outs, we must not forget how poor the Blues were last year. No doubt their new Coach will prove helpful this year, but ultimately they are in a rebuilding phase and their focus will be on getting games into the young player’s legs as opposed to winning.

There then seems to be a bit of value on GWS to beat Melbourne on Saturday. The $1.60 is very generous for GWS. There is a bit of hype around the Demons after their NAB Challenge performances, but the preseason means nothing. GWS have some elite midfielders and even with their main man up forward on the sidelines, the Demons will find this one too hard.

We then will be taking the Gold Coast Suns to beat Essendon. There is a reason the Suns are short priced as there really seems to be no way they lose this game. The Bombers are basically playing a second’s team due to their drug saga and the Suns have the one and only Gary Ablett back in the side. This one is easy game.

This will probably be the toughest game we have in our multi, but we like the Adelaide Crows to beat North Melbourne. There is a lot of value at $2.60 here. Adelaide love Etihad Stadium, having the best record on that pitch of any interstate team. The main reason they are paying so much is probably because they lost Dangerfield over the summer, but let’s remember how electric they looked in that final against the Bulldogs.

The final leg in our AFL Round 1 multi will see us take Port Adelaide to beat St Kilda. There is no doubt the Saints will improve a little compared to last year, but the Power still have one of the better lists in the league and will cause real headaches for a lot of teams. They also have Charlie Dixon coming in and we know he can be dangerous in front of the goals. The Saints will struggle in this game.
