2016 AFL Round 14 Betting Multi

The bye rounds are always some of the tougher betting rounds. It’s hard to know which teams have one eye on a break and which are keen to go into the bye with a bang. Then you have the teams that are simply fatigued and desperately need a break going up against teams who have just had their bye.

Like last week, we won’t be doing our usual five-leg AFL betting multi and that’s because we can’t utilise the CrownBet bonus special as there aren’t enough games over $1.10. What we will be looking at is a three-leg margin multi that you can find in our 2016 AFL Round 14 betting multi.

The first leg of our multi kicks off on Thursday night as we will be taking Adelaide by 1-39 against North Melbourne. This game is being played at Adelaide Oval and is the perfect opportunity for the Crows to get a solid win. North Melbourne are coming off an extremely tough game against the Hawks last week, while the Crows are fresh off the bye. As long as they come out with enough intensity to match it with the Roos for the first couple of quarters, I think they will start to kick away towards the end of the game.

Next up is Richmond by 1-39 against Brisbane. The Tigers have only managed five wins this season and should make it six this weekend, but I’m not convinced they can put a team away – even one as poor as Brisbane. They should have been able to defeat the Suns by a big margin a fortnight ago at the MCG, but instead were sluggish taking the ball forward and allowed the Suns to rebound. The Lions can put together some okay running football and have some quality ball users. This is probably my least confident pick of the three, but the odds look just about right.

The third and final leg of my multi is Geelong by 1-39 against St Kilda. The last time these two teams met was late last season in a game that resulted in a draw. While I think the Cats will win this one, I think it will be by less than six goals. The Saints are refreshed after their bye and I can’t see the Cats being able to really put them away. While they aren’t as damaging as Joel Selwood and Patrick Dangerfield, the Saints have some quality running midfielders who certainly like playing at Etihad. Should be a fun Saturday night game.
