2016 NRL Round 17 Betting Multi

Last week we narrowly missed out on a big payday as the Broncos let us down against the Bulldogs. Continue reading as we have our NRL Round 17 multi of the week below.

To start our multi off we will be backing the Canterbury Bulldogs to continue their good form and defeat Sydney Roosters. The Bulldogs seem to have finally found some consistency on the back of three great performances. They almost defeated the top of the table Sharks but were able to get it done against the Dragons and then they annihilated the Broncos on the weekend. Their forward pack is becoming even more intimidating with the return to form of Tony Williams whilst their back line was boosted with Brett Morris’s first match since he was forced to have two knee surgeries. The flying winger crossed for a hat trick in his return match and his brother Josh Morris should join him in the line up this weekend. The Roosters should have Mitchell Pearce at halfback after missing the past two matches but it won’t be enough as the Bulldogs pack will overpower the Roosters and on the back of this the Bulldogs will capitalise.

The Warriors have turned a corner over the past five weeks and despite losing on the weekend to the Sharks in overtime, they proved they can match it with the best teams in the competition. However, they will need to match that effort against the ‘weaker’ sides in the league and continue to climb the ladder as they are currently sitting outside the top eight. If their attack is clicking they can score points quickly against sides but they will need to show the same defensive effort they had on the weekend. Meanwhile the Titans had one of their worst performances of the season and the score line favoured them as they scored for two soft tries late in the match. They will be on the road this weekend and it is a tough ask for the inexperienced side to continue to play above their expectations. The Warriors will get the W in front of their home crowd.

The Penrith Panthers have won two straight matches and a lot of it can be contributed to their 18-year-old halfback Nathan Clearly playing well beyond his years. Clearly has showed a lot of composure in tough situations and has proven to be very creative in attack. He has crossed for two tries in his first three games whilst Bryce Cartwright has been exceptional at five-eighth. Cartwright is still more suited to the backrow position but he has shown how creative he can be as he delivered the final pass for three of the Panthers tries against the Rabbitohs and was instrumental in the side’s come from behind victory a week earlier against the Sea Eagles. They are the favourites heading into the match against the Tigers and with the home side lacking consistency we will be predicting them to win on the road.

The Cronulla Sharks are hosting the Parramatta Eels and they will be searching for a record 12th straight win. We are backing them to be successful with that as they have shown over the last few weeks that they are capable of winning the close matches whilst the Eels have had more negativity surrounding the club. It remains to be seen whether Semi Radradra will return in time to play for the Eels this weekend or whether the reports are true that he will be heading to France to play rugby. It would be a massive blow for the Eels who have already lost Nathan Peats and Junior Paulo to other clubs this year due to the salary cap clean out as well as Keiran Foran for the rest of the season due to injury. All of these issues are piling up on the Eels and the Sharks could run away with this match if they grab an early lead.

In our last leg we are predicting the defending champions to improve their away record and get the victory against the South Sydney Rabbitohs. The North Queensland Cowboys are just 2-5 on the road this season but they have been competitive in all of those losses. Meanwhile the Bunnies are 5-10 for the season and despite only losing by two-points against the Panthers, two tries in the final 10-minutes made the score line favour them. They don’t have enough in defence to be able to stop the best attacking team in the competition from crossing whilst their offence shouldn’t worry the Cowboys too much. The defending premiers were clearly affected by their stars playing in the Origin match as they were deflated towards the end of the match but they were able to close out the game in style to remain undefeated on their home soil.
