2016 NRL Round 7 Betting Multi

The 2016 NRL season continues this weekend as we have reached round 7 of the competition. We take a look at five matches over the weekend with the best value and offer our betting multi.

To kick things off we will be backing the Eels to earn a victory against the Sea Eagles at Brookvale on Thursday night. The Eels had their best performance of the season against the Raiders and as they demolished their opposition by 30-points. Throughout the opening five rounds the Eels had built their matches on the back of their defence and it has resulted in them winning three of their five matches. However, against the Raiders it was their attack that shone whilst they managed to maintain their strong defensive line, as they never allowed the green machine into the contest. Meanwhile the Sea Eagles were able to earn a big victory against the Warriors in New Zealand on the back of another strong performance from Apisai Koroisau. However, we believe the Sea Eagles don’t offer enough in attack to trouble the strong defence of the Eels and it will lead to them losing on home soil.

The Bulldogs picked up a solid victory against the Storm in Melbourne on Monday night and we are backing them to go back-to-back and earn a win against the Warriors. The Dogs were forward pack was back to its best and whilst they still aren’t offering much in attack, they will have enough to crack the poor defence of the Warriors that has leaked 160 points. The Warriors picked up victories against the Knights and Roosters but against the stronger sides they are failing to click. It is apparent they still need another few weeks to click together as whilst they were in attack on the weekend they continually dropped the ball and had wayward passes. The Warriors are also a poor side on the road and we are backing them to get outmuscled by the Bulldogs forwards and lose this match.

The Brisbane Broncos are short priced favourites against the Newcastle Knights and we are backing them to earn an easy victory on home soil. Suncorp Stadium has been a fortress for the Broncos and they rarely lose at the venue. Their defence is equal second best in the competition and it will be incredibly difficult for the Knights to crack it despite the side earning a victory on the weekend against the Tigers. The Broncos are on the top of the table and have been winning matches basically in cruise control as they never see to chance their hand too much. Ben Hunt has found his form after having a slow start to the season as he has had back-to-back strong performances and if he continues to combine well with Anthony Milford points will continue to flow for the side.

The Melbourne Storm suffered back-to-back losses in their last two matches after having a perfect start to the season over the opening four rounds. A lot of that is due to injuries in their back line, as they don’t have much depth in that area and it has forced a reshuffle in their starting side. Cooper Cronk is coming off a poor performance whilst Cameron Smith has been at a lower level than usual this season and the two great players will be wanting to bounce back strongly this weekend and lift in their performance as we near State of Origin. Meanwhile the Wests Tigers started with a bang this season but have now lost four straight matches and they are coming under a lot of scrutiny. Their attacking flare has fallen away as their spectacular passes that were coming off in their first two games are going wayward. Their recent loss gave the Knights their first win of the season with James Tedesco often handed the ball as the side hopes he can produce a miracle. To hamper the sides chances Aaron Woods suffered an injury and he will be missed, as he is an 80-minute forward. The Storm will earn a comfortable victory.

In the last leg of our multi we will be backing the Panthers to earn the two points against the Sydney Roosters. The Panthers lost on the weekend to the defending champions the Cowboys but they put on a great performance and it took a lot of class from the Cowboys outfit to defeat them. The side has improved with Matt Moylan returning to the side as fullback as it gives them an extra playmaker in the back line whilst he constantly catches the ball on the full from fullback and puts the side on the front foot in attack. Meanwhile the Roosters were able to earn their first victory of the season in a dominant performance against the Rabbitohs. Dylan Napa was their stand out performer as he came out with a defensive mind set and lead by example by constantly putting great shots on the Rabbitohs players and it lifted his team mates and put the side on the front foot immediately. However, it will be hard for him to do that again this weekend as the Panthers have a strong forward pack whilst they have more class in attack across their back line.
