2017 AFL Multi Round 1

AFL Round 1 Multi
Keeping in tradition of All Free Bets, we’ll be offering up free multis of the round for the AFL season all year starting with our Round 1 AFL Multi of the Week!

Round 1 is always the hardest to pick winners due to not really having any idea of how effective team’s pre-seasons were and how the chemistry is travelling. However, because of that, usually Round 1 is where we can get some good value! Although with that being said, we’ll look to get a safe win in week 1 to get our season off to a good start and start playing with house money.

Leg one of our multi will feature the Tigers to beat Carlton in the season opener on Thursday night. I’m a firm believer in the Tiges this year. I think parting ways with Tyrone Vickery will be a blessing, it should move Jack Reiwoldt closer to goal, which is where he was when they were last a successful club. The additions of Josh Caddy and Dion Prestia should also be massive and they have an easy matchup Round 1 against the Blues who many pundits have in the running to win the 2017 Wooden Spoon. At $1.42 there’s still a little value there making it a decent addition to our multi.

Our second leg will feature the Swans to roll the Power up in Sydney on Saturday. The Swans are my very early tip to win the premiership this year and while I think the Power should be big improvers, you can’t look past the Swans in Sydney. They couldn’t get over the line in the big dance last year but have proven themselves to be arguably the best regular season team over the past decade and it’s because they rarely lose at home.

Leg three of the multi will be our value leg, taking St. Kilda to beat Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Two up and coming teams square off in round 1 in what is pretty much a pick’em. The Saints have had the wood over the Demons in recent history, winning the last 14 games between the two and have a good record at Etihad, going 10-4 last year under the roof. The Dees should be competitive here but we like the Saints to get over the line in a close game.

In our last leg, we’ll be taking the Bulldogs to beat the Magpies at the MCG on Friday night. We are tipping the Pies to be a massive slider of the 2017 season and the Dogs should have too much run for them here on the bigger MCG ground. Whether or not the Dogs will show signs of a Premiership hangover remains to be seen but a good comeback win against the Suns in the final round of the JLT Community Series inspired a little bit of confidence at least.
