2017 NRL Multi Round 10

NRL Multi Round 10The NRL returns this weekend after the majority of players took a break due to the representative round. We take a look at the best value match ups of NRL Round 10 for our betting multi of the week.

To kick things off in Round 10 we will be backing the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs to earn the victory on home soil against the North Queensland Cowboys. Both of these sides lost a half enter this match with the Cowboys suffering the bigger blow. Johnathan Thurston returned early for the Kangaroos but unfortunately he suffered a shoulder injury in the victory. Meanwhile Josh Reynolds has injured his hamstring which means Matt Frawley moves into the starting line up and he will be given a chance after playing strongly off the bench for the Bulldogs for the past month. It isn’t all bad news for the Cowboys though with Lachlan Coote named to return while Jake Granville is also a chance of making it into the starting line up. They will need these two players back on deck if they are to stand a chance in this contest. Nevertheless, we are predicting the Bulldogs to earn the victory on the back of their bigger forward pack running through the middle of a weakened Cowboys side that lacks direction without Thurston.

In the second leg of our multi we will be predicting the New Zealand Warriors to earn the upset victory over the Penrith Panthers on the road. The Panthers have had a disastrous start to the season have just just two wins next to their name. That is good for second position on the ladder and they haven’t showed many signs of turning that record around. They were able to make a late comeback against the Broncos but the game was already put to bed. Their forward pack needs to gain some momentum to allow for their skillful backs to show off their ability. Meanwhile the Warriors will enter this match on the brink of the top eight having escaped with a hard-fought victory against the Roosters in their last match. The side is continuing to improve with Kieran Foran in the line up and he will be out for a big match having announced he is leaving the club at the end of the year.

In the third leg of our multi we will be sticking with the Melbourne Storm who have only lost one game this season as we believe they will defeat the Gold Coast Titans. The Storm will be without Jesse Bromwich who was caught up in the cocaine scandal and won’t be available for two weeks due to a club suspension. He lives a hole in the middle of the forward pack but Tohu Harris will make a timely return this weekend to fill the void. The side has been improving week by week, and we can’t see them suffering an upset, especially with Billy Slater out to make his claim for the number 1 jersey for Queensland. The Gold Coast Titans are coming off their third win of the season, and second in a row but their streak will end this Saturday.

We will be taking a ‘sure thing’ for the fourth leg of our multi as we are backing the Canberra Raiders to easily defeat the Newcastle Knights. They are short priced favourites for a reason entering this match – the Knights have won just two games across the past two seasons. The Knights have also been hit with a few injuries to the backrow as Jamie Buhrer and Mitch Barnett are on the sidelines. Add to that the suspension to Jarrod Mullen and Rory Kostjasen’s injury and the side has a lot of its salary cap in the stands. We are predicting the Raiders forward pack to be far too superior in this one as the Green Machine shows off its attacking talents in the back line and runs away with the contest.

In the final leg of our mutli we will be predicting the Sydney Roosters to hold on for a narrow victory against the Parramatta Eels. The Roosters suffered a one-point loss at the hand of the Warriors in New Zealand in their last start while the Eels will enter this game on the back of a three game winning streak. The side has been rejuventated due to the form of Corey Norman but he can’t do it all on his own against one of the stronger sides in the competition. The Roosters have a strong defensive unit and it will be hard to crack – their attack has let them down throughout their second half performances but we believe they will be able to get over the line in this one.
