2017 NRL Multi Round 16

The 2017 NRL season continues this week and we take a look at the best value head-to-head matches and offer our NRL Round 16 betting multi.

To kick off our multi this week we will be predicting the New Zealand Warriors to build on their latest victory a fortnight ago and defeat the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs on home soil. The Bulldogs have had an up and down season this year and despite winning last week against the Dragons, their attack was poor. They have been good defensively but with their best players backing up just two days after origin, cracks could begin to form. The Warriors were impressive in their last start and they always seem to lift their game during the origin period – largely due to the fact they don’t have any representatives for NSW or QLD.

In the second leg of our multi we will be predicting the Penrith Panthers to get one over the North Queensland Cowboys on the road. The Cowboys will have their origin stars backing up from origin and it questionable whether or not they will risk Johnathan Thurston who has had multiple injuries already this season. However, if he is to play, we will still stick with the Panthers who have kicked their game into another gear over the past month. It isn’t a coincidence their form surge has come at the same time as captain Matt Moylan was moved to five-eighth. He is a terrific playmaker and he was the game changer in their victory against the Raiders.

The Sydney Roosters and Melbourne Storm will both have a handful of players backing up from origin duty. The two sides are littered with quality players but we are going to stick with the competition leaders in this top of the table clash. The Melbourne Storm are the best at controlling matches and with Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith pulling the strings, it is hard to think that will change. In their final year together, they will be wanting to continue to lead the way. The Roosters have a strong forward pack and if they can get the upper hand they will stand a chance but the Melbourne Storm’s ability to wrestle and slow down the ruck will lead to their victory.

The St George Illawarra Dragons have hit a form but we are predicting them to snap it and earn the victory over the Newcastle Knights. The Dragons have lost their last two starts but they have proven this year that they have a strong attack and an even better defence. It will be hard for the Knights to find their way to the tryline in this one while we are predicting the Red V’s attack to return to its best in this one for an easy victory.

In the final leg of our multi we will be hoping to wrap things up with the Manly Sea Eagles earning the victory over the Cronulla Sharks. The Sea Eagles have had an inconsistent season but when they are at their best they have been hard to stop. We are predicting them to be up for this contest as they are facing the defending champions. Their forward pack has been strong which has laid a platform for the backs. Meanwhile the superstars from the Sharks will be backing up from origin and it will be hard for them to play at a high level in this one.
