2017 NRL Multi Round 6

Round 6 NRL Multi
The 2017 NRL season continues this weekend and there is only one undefeated team left in the competition, the Melbourne Storm. Continue reading as we look at the best value matches for our NRL betting multi.

We will kick this week’s betting multi off with the opening game of round 6 and predict the home side the Brisbane Broncos to earn the victory against the Sydney Roosters. We should be in for a blockbuster match between these two teams with the Broncos entering the game with three losses this season by three or less points. It has them outside the eight with only two wins after their latest loss against the Bulldogs last week. They played the match in poor conditions and weren’t able to create any clear cut opportunities. Their only try came from a 60m kick and with Sam Thaiday out sprinting his opponents. Meanwhile the Roosters suffered their first loss of the season against the Manly Sea Eagles. The side wasn’t as crisp as they have been in the opening four games of the year but they still almost came out on top. The halves pairing of Mitchell Pearce and Luke Keary is looking the goods but the Broncos will be too hard to beat at Suncorp.

In the second leg of our multi we will be jumping on the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs to defeat the Newcastle Knights. The Bulldogs grabbed their second win of the season last week against the Broncos and a lot of it came down to the performance of Matt Frawley. The halfback was in the side to replace the suspended Moses Mbye and he had a terrific debut in the top grade. His ability to apply the pressure to the Broncos through his kicking game proved the difference as the side earned multiple repeat sets to tire down their opponent. This is an area where the Bulldogs have struggled for the last two seasons as Josh Reynolds and Mbye have poor kicking games. Meanwhile the Knights bounced back to come within a point of upsetting the defending premiers. The side continues to turn up to each match with a lot of confidence and enthusiasm and they will continue to head in the right direction, unfortunately for them though it won’t be enough to beat the Dogs.

In the third leg of our multi we will be predicting the Manly Sea Eagles to get the edge over the St George Illawarra Dragons. Manly is one of the most in-form sides in the competition and are on a three game winning streak. They started the season poorly, with two straight losses but that snapped the side into gear. Dylan Walker produced one of the best games in years while Daly Cherry-Evans is beginning to find his best form and consistency after three straight solid games. Blake Green has provided a lot of stability for him while Tom Trbojevic has been great at the back. Meanwhile the Dragons are sitting in second position on the ladder and have surprised a lot of people. Their attack has provided a lot more than expected and they have scored the most points of any club. However, we believe they will head on a downward spiral, beginning with this weekend.

Ivan Cleary took over as the Wests Tigers coach this week, but it won’t be enough to allow them to produce an upset this weekend against the North Queensland Cowboys. The Tigers won their opening match of the season but have lost every game since. Cleary will help turn the club around but he will need a lot more time than a couple of days to allow the Tigers to earn a victory against the Cowboys in Townsville. Johnathan Thurston has been up and down this season but in a massive plus for him and the club Michael Morgan had his best game of the season. If he can continue to play at a high level it will take the pressure off Thurston and Coote and the side will return to its heights. The Tigers will enter the game with a lot of energy but it won’t last the entire 80 minutes.

In the last leg of our multi we will be backing the New Zealand Warriors to earn the victory on home soil against the Parramatta Eels. Keiran Foran pulled on the Warriors jersey for the first time as he was able to make it through the warmup with no dramas. He returned with a great performance too as he played a key part in the side’s comeback victory. Foran crossed for a try while he helped straighten the often sideways attack of the Warriors. He will growth from strength to strength and help lead the New Zealand side to the finals. Meanwhile the Eels are on a downward trend. The side has lost three straight games and has dropped out of the eight. Corey Norman continues to play at a high level but after having to release a lot of their key players last season due to the salaray cap scandal, the side doesn’t have the personnel to compete at a high level each week. This should be a comfortable victory for the home side.
