2017 NRL Multi Round 8

NRL Multi Round 8
The 2017 NRL season continues this weekend with the action kicking off on Friday night. We take a look at the best value matches to make our NRL Round 8 betting multi.

We will begin our NRL Round 8 multi by backing the Canberra Raiders to steam roll the Manly Sea Eagles. The Green Machine have found form and have moved into fifth spot on the ladder. The team has been damaging on both edges, but especially their right side combination of Joseph Leiluia and Jordan Rapana. The two would be licking their lips looking at the left side defence on the Sea Eagles, that was torn a part last week by the Storm. The two will be in for a big game in this one on the way to the Raiders third straight victory.

In the second leg of our multi we will be predicting the Penrith Panthers to turn things around against the Parramatta Eels. The Panthers haven’t lived up to their pre-season hype and they find themselves with two wins after seven matches. However, the side should receive an attacking boost this weekend with Bryce Cartwright set for his return. Whether he is in the right mindset is another story but it all should have blown over by now. Meanwhile the Eels prevented a five game losing streak by overcoming a late 12 point deficit against the Tigers to earn victory. The side will be looking to continue that trend but it doesn’t look like they will be having Mitchell Moses suit up for them which leaves them lacking attacking options. We believe the Panthers will do enough to escape with the two competition points.

In the third leg of our multi we are predicting the North Queensland Cowboys to bounce back from consecutive losses and hand the Newcastle Knights another loss. The Cowboys are without Johnathan Thurston for their second straight week but in a massive boost Lachlan Coote has been named to return. The fullback will help control the side’s attack while he will bring experience to the side. John Asiata had a brilliant second half for the Cowboys at halfback as the 108kg prop replaces Thurston at halfback. Meanwhile the Knights still can’t find an 80-minute performance. They were competitive against the Roosters and almost leveled the scores early in the second half, but ulitmately they were outclassed, similar to what will happen this weekend.

The Cronulla Sharks have begun to flex their muscles and we believe they will cruise to victory against the injury ravaged Gold Coast Titans side. The Titans almost upset the Broncos last week but the narrow loss hurt more with captain Ryan James, Konrad Hurrel and Dale Copley joining the injury list. James and Hurrel could still play this weekend while their injury list goes on. The Sharks have kept their last two opponents tryless and we believe their defence will be too hard to crack consistenly this weekend for the Titans to be competitive. The defending champions will win this one comfortably.

In the final leg of our multi we are predicting the St George Illawarra Dragons to come out on top against the Sydney Roosters on Anzac Day. The Dragons are leading the competition at the moment and they will be boosted by the return of Josh Dugan. The unorthodox fullback will bring hard running to the side but it could hault their attacking play. However, the Dragons have built their competition lead on the back of their defence and they will be looking to use that this weekend to prevent the Roosters from getting any momentum in the match. The tri-colours bounced back from a two game losing streak to beat the Knights but it was less than convincing. They are lacking punch up the middle and while Mitchell Peace and Luke Keary have been playing well, the side didn’t create too many opportunities in their victory on Friday night.
