2017 NRL Multi Round 9

NRL Multi Round 9
The 2017 NRL season continues this weekend and we take a look at the best value matches for our NRL Round 9 Betting Multi.

To kick things off we will be backing the Brisbane Broncos to win on home soil against the Penrith Panthers. The Broncos were able to escape with a victory on the road last week against the Rabbitohs but the match was surrounded by controversy. NRL Referees boss Tony Archer said the bunker made the wrong decision in ruling Tautau Moga a try – and that was just the start of the controversy as the other rulings were said to be correct. However, the side has still been playing relatively well, despite the loss of Ben Hunt to injury. Kodi Nikorima will progress as a number 7 and Anthony Milford and Darius Boyd will continue to relieve the pressure on his shoulders. Meanwhile the Panthers have won just two games this season and are in a dire position. The side hasn’t been able to build any momentum this season and they have one of the worst defences in the league. We can’t see them causing an upset at Suncorp in this one.

The Manly Sea Eagles will be on the road against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, but they have a better record away from their home this season and we are predicting them to earn the victory. The side bounced back to form last week with an entertaining golden point victory over the Raiders. Their defence improved drastically and they didn’t give up despite falling behind. Meanwhile the Rabbitohs will be gutted after their one-point controversial loss to the Broncos last week. The coach and players were filthy with a few decisions and we are expecting it to affect them mentally heading into this one. George Burgess will be on the sidelines for the next four weeks through suspension.

The Parramatta Eels have returned to form, winning their last two matches, but we are predicting that run to come to an end this weekend when they travel to North Queensland to face the Cowboys. The Eels have been impressive in their last two victories, with Corey Norman returning to the form that saw him lead the side to two victories in their opening two games of the season. The forward pack has stepped up and their defence has been strong. However, they are facing a Cowboys side with its backs against the Walls and with Thurston back in the line up. He will be orchestrating things once again which takes a lot of pressure off everyone else in the side and increases their opportunity to find the line in attack.

In the fourth leg of our multi we will be predicting the Gold Coast Titans to earn the victory against the Newcastle Knights. The Hayne plane return to action last weekend and he certainly took flight. He was the man of the match and set up the match winning try against the defending premiers. He will be facing the side that he was injured against in round 2 and he will want to play at his best as he pushes for a spot in the New South Wales side. Meanwhile the Newcastle Knights continued to compete on the weekend against the Cowboys but it is the same story for them every week – they put in the effort but miss out on the result. They sufferd another set back with Mitch Barnett sidelined and we can’t see them causing an upset.

In the last leg of our multi we will be backing the Cronulla Sharks to defeat the Wests Tigers. The Tigers earned a narrow victory against the Bulldogs on the weekend in Luke Brooks return from injury. The side has had a rollercoaster season, which is expected considering the off-field turmoil around the club. However, they are facing a Sharks side that is coming off a loss and they have bounced back after a loss to earn a big victory in every match this season. The Sharks are one of the stronger attacking sides and they held the Panthers and Storm without a try and the Tigers will struggle to crack them this Saturday night.
