2018 NRL Multi Round 1

The NRL season starts this Thursday and we take a look at the best value matches for our NRL Round 1 Betting Multi.

Knights vs Sea Eagles (Friday, Mar 9th 6:00pm AEDT)
The first leg of our NRL Round 1 multi starts with the Sea Eagles defeating the Knights. The two sides are $1.90 in the betting but this is based off past results and the trials. The Sea Eagles kept up with the Roosters in a 28-26 loss and they have beaten the Knights in the last 7 meetings. The Knights were thrashed 26-6 against the Eels in their last trial match and they just struggle to keep sides from scoring. They finished last season with the worst defensive record and Manly will likely have too much control in attack.

Tigers vs Roosters (Saturday, Mar 10th 4:30pm AEDT)
In the second leg of our NRL multi, we’re backing the Roosters to beat the Tigers. Since 2010, the Roosters have a 14-1 record against the Tigers and we can see that becoming 15-1. They added Cronk and Tedesco in the offseason. Which off the back of a 17-7 season, is going to be hard to stop in 2018. They also finished 2017 as one of the best teams in defence so they’ll have the Tigers covered. Meanwhile for the Tigers, they lost Woods and Tedesco is now at the Roosters. The difference in this matchup will be the Roosters attack against the Tigers poor defence. Wests allowed 23 points per game last year and they didn’t fare well in day matches (4-10). So in the end, the Roosters should win this by 13+.

Rabbitohs vs Warriors (Saturday, Mar 10th 7:00pm AEDT)
South Sydney have a great record against the Warriors and they are one of the safe bets of the round. In 2018, Greg Inglis is back in the lineup and he’ll instantly improve their attack. They looked good in the trials as well with wins over the Dragons and Wigan. While for the Warriors, they were very poor at the end of 2017 and this is a tough trip. They have never won a match in Perth (0-6), which includes three straight losses against Souths. They also managed an 1-11 away record last season and they seem to always play poorly against Souths. The Rabbitohs have scored 36 or more points in the last three meetings.

Bulldogs vs Storm (Saturday, Mar 10th 9:00pm AEDT)
The fourth leg of our NRL Multi is the Melbourne Storm to beat the Bulldogs. The Storm lost Cooper Cronk in the offseason but the likes of Smith and Slater are still around. They also have the best coach in the NRL and he’ll mentor new halfback Brodie Croft into a star. They are strong in the outside backs and Jesse Bromwich leads the forward pack. Last season, they ranked first in the NRL for points scored and points against so it looks like another win coming up for the Storm. The Bulldogs were ranked dead last in the NRL for points scored and they lost James Graham in the offseason. They could keep this close due a 6-1 record against the Storm but it’s hard to back against Melbourne. The Bulldogs will likely struggle to keep up with the Storm in attack.

Titans vs Raiders (Sunday, Mar 11th 6:30pm AEDT)
In the last leg of our multi, we’ll be taking the Raiders to beat the Titans on the Gold Coast. It looks like a rebuilding year for the Titans with a new coach. They were really poor in defence last season and it’s hard to see any different in 2018. The Raiders are a decent attacking team and they’ll look to take advantage. They put up 42 points on the Titans in the last meeting at the venue and they averaged 23.3 points per game last season. That compares to the Titans who averaged just 18 points for and 26 points against.
