A-league Round 9 Multi of the Week

A draw between Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix in the first match of the weekend cost us our multi last week as our following three legs were correct as we missed out on a nice return of $822.94.

After their biggest win of the season Melbourne City will be taking on the Central Coast Mariners, a side they were able to beat in a match they could have easily won my a bigger margin. Last week Aaron Mooy put on one of the best performances of his career as he played a hand in four of the five goals that were scored by his side. It is likely that he will put on another strong performance this weekend and carve the Mariners defence to pieces that hasn’t been able to keep a clean sheet this season.

Sydney FC have an incredible record against the Jets and that is why we are backing them to pick up the three points in this one. The Sky Blues have struggled in recent weeks as they have fell to two 0-0 draws, however we are expecting them to push forward more this week in a bid to find the back of the net on more occasions as the side has only scored eight goals in eight matches this season. Their class should be enough to pick up the victory at home as their defence is the best in the league conceding only six goals.

The Victory has won their past five matches including a 3-0 win against the Phoenix just a month ago. Over that span they have picked up the FFA Cup and scored 13 goals. The team is beginning to prove why they are the defending champions and favourites to go back-to-back as they are looking unstoppable. The Phoenix have lost their last two matches at home to Melbourne by a margin of three goals and whilst I expect this match to be closer, the Victory will come out on top.

In our final leg of the weekend we will be backing the Wanderers to continue their impressive run and pick up a win against the Roar. In a clash between second and third on the ladder, the Wanderers will be wanting revenge after their loss in the opening round against the Roar. On that night Western Sydney were there own worst enemy as they made constant mistakes that led to goals for the Roar. Their defence has tightened up since then conceding just 3 goals in their last six matches. The side will be too strong at home as they extend their winning streak to six.
