Horse Racing Multi of the Week – Caulfield Guineas Day

Lankan Rupee2015 Caulfield Guineas Day offers a cracking day of racing with five Group 1 races spread across Caulfield and Randwick. We have picked our best chances across the two meets and combined into a multi bet for you, taking advantage of the fantastic offer at CrownBet where you’ll get a matching bonus bet up to $50 if one of your legs loses.

We have two multis for you to take a crack at – one short priced and one at value:

Short Priced Treble – $5.19 at Crownbet

LANKAN RUPEE – Caulfield R2 #1
Mick Price’s champion sprinter champion sprinter tackles the Schillachi stakes first up as he works towards the major Spring riches. The 5 time Group 1 winner has 4 wins from 6 attempts first up and only has the 5 rivals to account for. Very short but this won’t be a leg to be concerned about.

KASIANO LAD – Randwick R3 #3
Two wins from two starts so far this prep and he’s won them impressively. This isn’t any harder than his last start win and although he goes up 2kg he gets a great run from barrier 2. Undefeated over this distance and has also won his only start at this track. Should maintain those records.

VANBRUGH – Randwick R6 #1
This Chris Waller trained colt has won his past two starts impressively and meets a few of the rivals he beat last start again today. The only danger in the race is the Queenslander Too Good To Refuse but off level weights over the 2000m, I expect Vanbrugh to prove too strong and earn his first Group 1.

Long Shot Multibet – $37.31 at Crownbet

MUSIC MAGNATE – Randwick R4 #10
Good win last start over this same distance at Rosehill where he chased down a handy horse in Good Project. Steps up in grade but gets in on the minimum weight of 54.5kg and draws very nicely in barrier 4 so might find himself a bit closer to the speed. Going well and can win again.

KERMADEC – Caulfield R6 #7
Tough race this as its the WFA Group 1 with Australia’s best 2000m horses competing against each other but Kermadec is a rising star and he’s my top selection in the race. Impressive winner of the Group 1 George Main Stakes last start and the step up to 2000m will suit him even more. Great race but this is a great horse.

WAWAIL – Caulfield R10 #3
Touted as a future Group 1 winner early in her career and had her first run for the Spring 3 weeks ago but she went to the line completely untested and you can forget she even went around. Previous to that she was undefeated from 3 attempts first up and she essentially comes into this race in the same condition. She’s a classy filly and if she gets daylight today she can win.
