NRL Round 24 Multi of the Week

We didn’t have any luck last week, as there were a lot of unforeseen upsets throughout the round. We will look to make up for it this week as we predict the sides that should come out on top.

Firstly we will take the Dragons for the Thursday night match to bounce back after their loss to the Broncos last week. The return of Benji Marshall will be massive for the Dragons as they clearly missed his control last weekend, kicking game and flair in attack as the pressure was all mounted on Gareth Widdop and it was easy for the Broncos to anticipate where the ball was heading and defend against it. It won’t be the same this weekend for the Panthers who are still missing the majority of their starting line up.

We will then have the Bulldogs to defeat the Rabbitohs in the Grand Final rematch and the first time these two are facing each other since the controversial decision earlier in the season, which lead to Bulldogs fans attacking the referees. We hope that doesn’t happen this time around but with the Bunnies missing Issac Luke, Luke Keary and possibly John Sutton they will lack attack in the halves and out of dummy half and will struggle against the Bulldogs big forward pack.

The Sharks were pretty awful against the Storm on Monday night but they will bounce back against the Tigers who were unable to continue their improved form against the Knights. They were able to get out to a good start but their attack and defence began to lack and they were lucky the Knights had trouble putting the ball down otherwise the score line could have been a lot worse. The forward pack and grinding nature of the Sharks will see them come away with a victory.

The Sydney Roosters are on a big winning streak but they have been in cruise control for a couple of weeks now. They will have to shift it up a gear as they take on the top of the table Broncos. These two sides are the premiership favourites and they won’t be holding back as they look to gain confidence heading into the finals. The Roosters however have the advantage as they will be playing at home and I expect them to want revenge for the match they lost in extra time earlier in the season to the Brisbane side.

The Sea Eagles were lucky to escape with a victory last week against Canberra and they were able to keep their finals hopes alive. If they lose this match against the Eels then they don’t deserve to make an appearance in September. The Eels put up a good fight against the Roosters and almost caused an upset, I can’t see them putting in a similar performance this weekend and the Eagles will run away with it.
