NRL Round 3 Multi of the Week

Sportsbet

Last week’s multi was disappointing as both the Storm and the Cowboys lost by two points which cost us from receiving the Sportsbet cash back bonus!

This week there aren’t many outsider bets that are likely to pay off, therefore I have gone for a multi with shorter odds but has a higher chance of coming through.

The Bulldogs were solid last week in a victory, whilst the Sea Eagles were lucky to escape with victory against the fast-finishing Storm. A lot of decisions went in the way of Manly and I expect them to return to the struggles of the opening round in this one as their forwards will struggle against the intimidating pack boasted by the Dogs.

The Cowboys have lost their first two matches of the season but the Broncos weren’t very good in their victory against the Sharks. Lachlan Coote will finally make his debut for the Cowboys after missing all of last season with a torn ACL will improve the Cowboys attack as Michael Morgan moves to five-eighth and Robert Lui is dropped.

The Canberra Raiders lost last week but the Dragons have looked awful in their opening two games. They have only scored eight points in their two games and they had the majority of possession against the Storm and were held to just one try. The Raiders have improved since last season and will be too good for the struggling Dragons.

The Melbourne Storm allowed the Sea Eagles to score three tries in nine minutes before the half-time break which would have had coach Craig Bellamy fuming. It will be unlikely for that lapse to be shown this week. The Sharks are winless and didn’t look like scoring against the Broncos, not helping their situation is their awful away record in Melbourne. They haven’t won their since 2008 and have leaked in 86 points in their last two visits south.

The Wests Tigers looked the goods against the Dragons but the Rabbitohs are in their own league right now. They overcame the Roosters last week in a thriller, smashed the Broncos, dominated the World Club Challenge and also won the Auckland nines. I can’t see them being stopped this week by a young Tigers outfit.
