NRL Round 8 Multi of the Week

This week’s NRL Multi of the Week will be interesting with a lot of short-priced favourites despite their poor recent run of form. The Rabbitohs and Roosters are both having losing streaks but are massive favourites against sides that have been winning.

The Canterbury Bulldogs are coming off of a convincing win last week against the Manly Sea Eagles. They got out to an early lead and despite losing their way, they put on four tries over a twenty-minute period and it was enough for them to break a two-game losing streak. They come up against a Tigers outfit that has shown flashes of brilliance but has struggled at closing out most of their games.

The North Queensland Cowboys are on a four-game winning streak and are looking much better with Jake Granville shining as their starting hooker and also Coote and Morgan performing well at fullback and five eighth respectively. Meanwhile the Newcastle Knights have lost three in a row and look to have lost their way since climbing to the top of the ladder.

The St George Illawarra Dragons are tied at the top whilst the Roosters have lost three in a row. The Dragons defence has been very impressive whilst their attack hasn’t been too bad with Benji Marshall showing his critics he can still perform at an elite level. The Roosters will be desperate to get a win but the Dragons will be up to the challenge.

The Cronulla Sharks are on a three-game winning streak and their recent form can be credited to the rise of Jack Bird. The five eighth has starred in all three of their wins and he is in discussion for a Test call up next weekend. The Panthers are without their halves partners Jamie Soward and Peter Wallace and they will miss their direction.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have lost two in a row since losing Adam Reynolds and they will miss him again this week. However, the side should receive a boost with the return of John Sutton and this will go a long way in giving them the victory over the Canberra Raiders who struggle on the road.
