Anthony Johnson vs Glover Texeria

The 3rd ranked UFC light heavyweight, Texeria is an experienced boxer with a high level BBJ black belt; he is a dangerous prospect for anyone in the division. The UFC have matched him up with the terrifying Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson, one of the hardest hitters to ever set foot in the octagon. This will be a high level contest between two of the UFC’s best, but I think ultimately Johnson’s power will be too much and he should earn an impressive KO.

Raquel Pennington vs Elizabeth Phillips

Raquel Pennington is a gritty, well rounded fighter who has earned her ranking in the UFC with good performances against fighters like Holly Holm and Bethe Correia. Her opponent Elizabeth Phillips has not had the same level of competition and looks a ways behind Pennington’s development. This one won’t be pretty but Raquel Pennington should be able to get the better of it on the feet and the mat on route to a unanimous decision.

Artem Lobov vs Chris Avila

Artem Lobov is 11-12 journeyman who has lost his last two UFC fights, while Chris Avila is a very green prospect, neither fighter really deserves to be on a card of this magnitude. The UFC is putting this one togetherbecuase Avila is entrenched in the Diaz team and Lobov is McGregor’s number one sparring partner. Lobov probably has the skill advantages, but I expect this to be a back and forth battle that should easily cover the over 1.5 rounds.

Neil Magny vs Lorenz Larkin

This fight will headline the fight pass prelims and it’s an interesting matchup between two surging welterweights. Neil Magny is coming off the biggest win of his career against Hector Lombard and has won 10 of his last 11 fights. Lorenz Larkin is a dynamic offensive striker who can hurt opponents in myriad of different ways. Magny is always hittable early and I think Lorenz Larkin will be able to get on top and if he doesn’t gas should be able to get a late stoppage or win two rounds.

Colby Covington vs Max Griffin

Colby Covington was once one of the hottest prospects in the welterweight division, a stand out college wrestler who transitioned effectively to MMA. He ran into a speed bump in Warllery Alves and has been criticised for being too reliant on his grappling. Fortunately wrestling is just what he needs here; Max Griffin is a good striker but is completely out of his depth on the mat. Colby Covington should cruise to a wrestling heavy decision.
